Occupational Therapist at Habilitation & Health

Habilitation & Health offers specialized care and support to individuals with permanent disabilities; such as reduced ability to communicate, see, hear, or move. The goal is to maintain and develop functional abilities, create conditions for good health, and enable active participation in society. Do you want to make a difference for people with disabilities? Welcome to Habilitation & Health, part of the Västra Götaland Region. Together we have the power to change.

Habilitation is specialized health and medical care for adults with autism, intellectual disabilities, movement disabilities, or acquired brain injuries. We provide health-promoting and therapeutic interventions based on each individual's unique needs and circumstances, and we have specialist knowledge of how disabilities can affect daily life, health, and development.

Description

As an occupational therapist at Habilitation, you play an important role in teamwork, where the efforts of the interdisciplinary team aim to make patients' daily lives function.

We are now looking for an occupational therapist for one of our teams, which targets the autism and intellectual disability (ID) population. The position is a permanent full-time employment. The workplace is located in central Gothenburg. We welcome your application!

Responsibilities

You will have an exciting variety of tasks, where common issues in patient work include difficulties with planning, time, and structure, as well as the need for assistive devices to compensate primarily for cognitive difficulties. The work involves mapping functional and activity abilities and supporting the patient in creating structure, routine, and insight for increased balance and independence in daily life. The work also includes providing information, guidance, and consultation to the patient and their surroundings, as well as collaborating with other healthcare providers and authorities, as comorbidity within, for example, psychiatry is common.

The habilitation works in a team-based manner with colleagues both within their own profession and across other professions. We offer both individual treatment and group treatment (BIG), such as Ha Koll and ReDO. Digital healthcare meetings are common.

We offer you an introductory period and good opportunities for collegial support from an assigned mentor. We continuously work on professional development, both locally and regionally with other occupational therapists within adult habilitation and strive for continuous competence development through, among other things, collegial learning, seminar days, and training based on needs. Habilitation has developed a Career Development Model for occupational therapists to support competence enhancement.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed occupational therapist, with knowledge and experience of working with the diagnosis groups autism and/or ID. You should be knowledgeable in assessment and treatment regarding primarily cognitive difficulties. This includes experience and knowledge of assistive devices/tools that compensate for these difficulties. It is advantageous if you have training/experience in occupational therapy assessment instruments/methods aimed at the above target groups, such as Ka-Tid, PRPP, CO-OP, and ReDO. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability; therefore, we require qualities such as the ability to prioritize and adapt in a high work pace, flexibility, independence, and teamwork ability. Experience in teamwork is therefore advantageous.

Other

Our target groups are individuals over 18 years old with congenital or early-onset disabilities that cause difficulties in daily life. The operations are regulated by the Health and Medical Services Act and are a complement to other health and medical care.

For us, person-centered care is important, where the focus is on creating value for the patient through, among other things, accessibility and good treatment. To achieve this, we need to provide evidence-based care but also dare to try new working methods to reach operational goals. Within Habilitation & Health, we strive for a balanced gender distribution and see diversity as a strength, where our employees' differences enrich and develop the organization. Recruitment is ongoing, and you may be contacted before the application deadline expires.

In Habilitation & Health's employment benefits, among other things, include pension agreements, salary exchange, flexible working hours agreements, contractual insurance, free open health and medical care, and wellness grants.
